Award from Texan by Nature, a non-profit founded by former First Lady Laura
Bush, for the utility’s Certified Water Partner Program, which helps businesses and government institutions to save water and money.

TCEQ Commissioner visits center
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Commissioner Bobby Janecka stopped by on a recent visit to El Paso for a tour of our Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant and TecH2O Center. Commissioner Janecka was interested in learning about the vital role the desalination plant plays in providing reliable water supplies to El Paso throughout the year. It’s always a pleasure to showcase our water system’s crown jewel for our state leaders.

Educators had lots of fun at TecH2O during the Project Learning Tree Workshop facilitated by John Boyette of Texas A&M Forest Service. Project Learning Tree is an award-winning environmental education program for teachers and community leaders working with children and youth.

El Paso Library Certified Water Partner
A fifth El Paso library has shown best practices in water efficiency! The Richard Burgess Library at 9600 Dyer St. is one of them. Stop by and say thanks to them! EPWater is providing the city with grant money to help improve water efficiency at other libraries where it’s needed - saving water and money for the city.
