TAWWA Nomination
El Paso Water Nominates YISD Educator for Award
El Paso Water is proud to have nominated Lorena Cerecerez, a Science Instructional Coach at Del Valle Elementary, to be the Water Educator of the Year Award, a distinction provided by The Texas section of the American Water Works Association (TAWWA). Many teachers from around the state are nominated, and TAWWA will announce the winner in March.

Texas Waters Specialist Program
In 2018, El Paso Water (EPWater) collaborated with Texas Parks and Wildlife to offer the Texas Water Specialist lecture series at the TecH₂O Center. Over the course of seven months, 201 people attended seven lectures. For those who attended each one, certifications were granted with the hope and expectation that these individuals will give back to the community through a variety of educational programs.

Maxicom Training
Partnership to improve Parks conservation
As part of a partnership with the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department, the TecH2O Learning Center hosted two days of smart irrigation training to improve conservation practices at city parks. The training focused on Maxicom’s central control irrigation system and its hardware components. Parks staff were able to participate in practice sessions and walk through real-life examples of troubleshooting, repair, and installation of different irrigation system components.
